Excellent staff and service! Very nice ambiance! Centrally located for Blowing Rock.
This is minor, but it is good to know what is going on around your hotel: What restaurants are no longer in business, and how to get to another town which may only be a few miles and two towns away from the hotel's location.

The first time we stayed at the Village Inn we thought it was charming, clean and it is in the beautiful town of Blowing Rock nc. There is a nice continental breakfast and wine and cheese served at 5 pm. They also have rooms that are set aside as rooms that will accommodate travelers with pets.
As mentioned above, our first experience was excellent. Our second experience was not. We had a room that could accommodate a pet. We found small amounts of hardened stool on the floor. The room was smaller than the one we had on our first visit. The small table was broken, not enough outlets to charge personal items, only mirror was a bathroom mirror, bathroom door would not stay open making it hard to cool off after a shower, and our room was not cleaned. When I went to the front desk, they told me that the maid tried to clean, but our puppy was loose and they won't enter a room with a loose dog. I can assure you that our 5lb puppy was crated when we left for the day and crated upon our arrival home. The girl at the desk behaved like I was not truthful about this.

The hotel was clean with a nice interior and nestled in a beautiful building. the personnel was attentive and offered me a nicely decorated and well-appointed room with thoughtful amenities like a toothbrush and rocking chairs. the location was favorable, within easy walking distance to everything I wanted to visit. This property exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it.

I loved the simplicity of the area. Really enjoyed the back patio with the creek that was my favorite. Everyone was very nice to us. Also the bathroom was much nicer than I expected.

The room, upgraded to a "king suite", was very small and crammed with too much furniture. No place to set anything down. No space for computer. Not enough electrical outlets. The outlets that were present were difficult to reach. Chuck the excess furniture, install a small desk and chair, add and relocate outlets. Small bathroom, again with little space to set anything down. The evening "wine and snacks" were a joke.
